Yoga and The Carriage Metaphor

The carriage represents the body
The horses pulling the carriage represents the emotions
The driver is the mind and
The passenger is the soul (atman)

The state of the average person is as follows
The carriage is in terrible disrepair
The horses are half wild
The driver is unfocused and drunk
The passenger is either King or Queen - is asleep -
dreaming he or she is a peasant

Yoga
Repairs the carriage (body)
Tames the horses (emotions)
Sobrs & focuses the driver (mind)
Reawakens the passenger (soul)
The passenger then remembers his or her true purpose and instructs the driver on which route to take to their ultimate destination

Meditation Group

REGULAR CLASSES

meditation For relaxation, energetic healing, chakra cleansing and spiritual development.

This class is for experienced meditators as well as those who have an open mind and are ready to try something different.

Monday: 1:00 – 2:00p.m.

INTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION

Learn simple techniques for relaxing the body and stilling the mind. This class is for those with little or no previous experience and/ or those who would like to understand more about what meditation is and would like to learn foundational skills.

These classes run over 4 weeks approximately 4 times a year. They are usually held on a Monday prior to the regular class. Please enquire at Reception for next course dates and to reserve your place.
